Kiwi Treasures learning programs will help your child to learn and grow, with a strong focus on numeracy and literacy to help them transition into school.  Our teaching programs have been developed over many years and are constantly reviewed, so that your child can get the best possible start to their future.  By reviewing our programs, we also ensure they reflect our teaching philosophy and the current curriculum requirements.
Our friendly and qualified staff run programs that are based on a variety of key learning areas, however we also believe it’s important to integrate these with our children’s interests to keep learning fun and exciting.

Key Learning Areas:

Social and Dramatic Play:  This area incorporates role-play, acting, dress ups, theatre, musicals and concerts into your child’s learning.

Construction, Block and Manipulative Play: Many of you would have grown up playing with Lego, Duplo and building blocks and at Kiwi Treasures your child will too, as well as making their own creations with hammer and nails.

Language and Communication:  Communication is critical when it comes to making friends, communicating with peers and maintaining relationships, so building communication skills is very important for your child.  Our teachers encourage the children to develop social skills through posing questions, finding solutions and working together with those around them.  Such activities assist in the development of your child’s receptive listening skills and their ability to analyze instructions and requests.

Maths, Science and Discovery:  This area of learning includes everything from counting, colour, shapes and symbol recognition to growing a vege garden, baking and experiments with water, ice and sand.  Also, our centre has a friendly turtle called "Boo", which the kids can interact with.

Sand and Water (messy play):  This type of fun and interactive play gives your child the chance to learn about mass, volume, weight, floating, sinking, pouring and measuring.

Music and Movement:  Time to get our boogie on!  Music plays a big role in our centre meaning your child can try dancing, singing and playing musical instruments, while getting to learn all about rhythm, tone, beat, melody and harmony.

Cooking:  Not only will your child get to taste the yummy benefits of cooking, but they will learn a wide range of skills like measuring, planning, nutrition and what different cultures eat around the world.

Gross Motor Activity:  Time to burn off some of your little ones endless supply of energy with fun outdoor activities!  Here they can try some good old fashion fun with ball games, riding bikes, tree climbing and hula hooping.

Creative Art and Sensory Play:  At Kiwi Treasures your little Picasso can make as many paintings, murals and collages as your fridge can hold, as well as getting stuck in with play dough, slime, goop and hand and face painting.

Educational Visits:  At Kiwi Treasures we go on fun and exciting adventures to learn about the community and other cultures.  This may include places such as the police, dentist, fire brigade, or even the hairdressers.

Transition to School Program:  Our transition to school program involves structured lessons that are fun and stimulating, to help your child prepare for school.  We cover everything from learning basic literacy and numeracy, to things like focusing at mat time and learning how to write your name.
